Opening reception of My Royal Family by Camilo Godoy at the Warehouse in Jersey City-Powerhouse Arts District on April 9th, 2010. This was before the Arizona law passage that allowed local police to stop suspected undocumenteds. Little did we know that the installation was going to ring loud in its firm support for immigration reform in this country.
We are sponsoring the production of Houses on the Moon Theatre Co. of “De Novo” in Manhattan. See, above flyer.
The urgency for comprehensive immigration reform in the U.S. is never the more true than now as undocumented immigrants face backlash in states like Arizona. (I foresee that Arizona’s law, which bestows local state police force power to enforce immigration laws—-a federal matter—- will be challenged on constitutional and separation of powers grounds.)
